Chocolate Mint Tea Latte

If you’re craving the frothy goodness of a latte but don’t want the jitters of coffee, try this invigorating chocolate mint latte instead. It’s full of rich chocolate flavor with a hint of mint and a frothy plant-based milk to add a comforting texture.

Mint Sencha tea is the backbone of this recipe, with a real mint flavor that’s perfect for starting the day or for an afternoon pick-me-up. Mint sencha tea crystals provide calm, focused energy with the amino acid L-theanine. This tea variety also provides more antioxidants than the standard green tea, helping to support a healthy gut microbiome, aid in digestion, and support the immune system.

The mint and chocolate combination is a match made in heaven. Indulgent cacao powder adds rich chocolate flavor with none of the processed ingredients or added sugar. Cacao powder is packed with flavonoids, a type of phytonutrient that helps protect the heart and support healthy blood sugar levels. Cacao powder naturally contains a small amount of caffeine so it’s best to enjoy this drink in the morning or early afternoon.

To naturally sweeten your latte, coconut sugar adds caramel-like sweetness and is lower glycemic than white sugar, which means it won’t spike your blood sugar the way that white sugar does.

If that’s not enough, this latte is finished with frothy plant-based almond milk. Some almond milk varieties froth better than others, so experiment to find your favorite. A personal milk frother will create hot frothed milk in under 3 minutes.
