Hibiscus Pitaya Moon Milk Main

This vibrant moon milk is an uplifting elixir any time of day. With a creamy texture and subtle fruit flavor, it’s the perfect substitute for sugary drinks with plenty of antioxidants to help you feel revitalized.

For a smooth, uplifting drink to sip on that won’t give you the jitters, this creamy, fruity moon milk will be your new go-to. Hibiscus tea adds a subtle tart flavor along with antioxidants. This blend also contains a hint of mint and licorice for an uplifting taste and aroma.

An Out of This World Elixir

Moon milk is known for its bright colors ranging from pink to blue and everything in between. This pink drink may look like something out of a cartoon, but it’s free of artificial dyes and colored instead with bright pink pitaya pureé. Pitaya, also known as dragon fruit, is an exotic tropical superfood with a vibrant pink exterior and white interior with tiny black seeds. It has a subtle sweet flavor similar to kiwi.

Pitaya is high in vitamin-C for immune support, supports healthy blood glucose and is also high in fiber which may help with digestion. Pitaya pureé can be found in the frozen fruit section of health food grocers. The puree can also be used in smoothies to reap its benefits.  (1)

Raw honey adds a smooth sweetness that compliments the tartness of the hibiscus tea. Monk fruit sweetener can be used for a low-glycemic alternative.

Almond milk has a neutral flavor that lets the flavor of the tea stand out. Other plant-based milk like cashew, hemp or coconut milk can be used as well.

To finish off the moon milk, edible flowers are sprinkled on top. Dried hibiscus or rose petals can be found in spice shops or online.

Tip: this moon milk is equally enjoyable hot or served chilled in the summertime for a refreshing beverage.
