Hello everyone! My name is Simon Cheng and I am the founder of Pique Tea. I want to give a huge thank you to all of our fans, customers, friends and family for supporting us along this journey. Your excitement about Pique Tea Crystals motivates and inspires me to bring you the best tea experience I possibly can. Many of you have heard about our tea, but do you know the story behind it? Sit down, grab a cup of tea and I’ll tell you.
So I’m an odd combo between an Asian food fanatic and a Western health nut – a product of growing up in Hong Kong and living in the California. Growing up, perfectly brewed loose leaf tea was served everywhere, restaurants, offices, homes, you name it. But when I came to the US, I realized it was nearly impossible to find decent tea unless you brewed it yourself.
As life got busier, making tea became too troublesome. I have never found a tea strainer or contraption that was easy to clean (to date). I hated the cardboard flavor of tea bags. The idea of boiling a plastic or bleached paper teabag in water then drinking it was just gross. Not to mention that I always forgot about removing the teabag, and ended up with bitter, over-brewed tea. Then, when I did remember to take the bag out, I could never find a place to put it! I loved the amazing feeling of drinking tea and missed the sense of vitality and well being that tea always gave me.
To cut a long story short, this is what inspired me to spend years of experimentation to create Pique Tea Crystals. After scouring the world in search of the best tea farms, tea masters and tea makers, we developed a way to brew loose leaf tea and then crystallize it. We work with our Tea Master, Roy Fong to source the best leaves from trusted farms, brew the leaves at exactly the right temperature and right time (so you don’t have to), then remove the leaves and distill that brew into Tea Crystals. Now all you have to do is add water and voila! you have exceptional tea in an instant.
Being able to share the power of tea with current and aspirational tea drinkers is the biggest gift I could have asked for. And the best part is I can now share it with all of you. So raise your tea cup and join me in a virtual “cheers”. We are the new tea people and the future of tea has arrived. I can’t to wait to see what the future holds for Pique.
